En Chile construyó el parque eólico El Arrayán, de 115MW, que utiliza 50 turbinas Siemens de 2,3MW. El Arrayán suministra el 70% de su demanda de energía a Minera Los Pelambres, mientras que el 30% restante se vende en el Sistema Interconectado Central (SIC). De esta manera, Los Pelambres se transformó en una de las empresas mineras con mayor consumo de ERNC en Chile. El proyecto ubicado en la costa de la IV Región, comuna de Ovalle, significó una inversión de US$300 millones. El 70% de la iniciativa es controlada por Pattern Energy, mientras que el 30% restante es propiedad de Antofagasta Minerals.
THE COMPANY:
Pattern Chile Holding Ltda. is a subsidiary of Pattern Energy, one of the leading companies in the field of wind power and electrical transmission in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. In Chile, the company built the 115 MW El Arrayan wind farm, which uses 50 Siemens turbines of 2.3 MW each. El Arrayan supplies 70% of its energy demand to Minera Los Pelambres, whereas the remaining 30% is sold on the Central Interconnected System (SIC). This way, Los Pelambres became the mining companies with one of the largest consumption of NCRE in Chile. The project, located along the coast of the IV Region, Ovalle commune, meant a US$300 million investment. Patter Energy controls 70% of the initiative, while the remaining 30% is owned by Antofagasta Minerals.
