LA COMPAÑÍA:
Metrogas pertenece mayoritariamente al Grupo Gasco. Cuando en 1997 se inauguró el gasoducto Gas Andes, entre Argentina y Chile, Metrogas inició el abastecimiento de gas natural a través de su red de distribución, en la Región Metropolitana. En 2002, la compañía se consolidó en el área residencial, industrial e inmobiliaria, llegando a casi 300 mil clientes. Hoy cuenta con más de 600 mil. A través del tiempo, y como manera de contar con nuevas fuentes de abastecimiento, Metrogas ha adoptado diversas iniciativas, como la utilización de energía renovable como el biogás, producido en la planta de tratamiento de aguas servidas de La Farfana.
THE COMPANY:
Metrogas is mainly owned by the Gasco Group. The company started the supply of natural gas through its distribution network in the Metropolitan Region, when in 1997 the Gas Andes gas pipeline was inaugurated, between Argentina and Chile. In 2002, Metrogas consolidated itself in the residential, industrial and real-estate markets, reaching almost 300 thousand clients. Nowadays, the company has more than 600 thousand. Through time, and in order to have new supplying sources, Metrogas has adopted different initiatives, like the usage of renewable energy like biogas, produced at the sewage treatment plant La Farfana.
